Upholding academic integrity is a commitment to the pillars of honesty, trust, fairness, respect, responsibility and courage.
Academic Integrity
NJIT is an institution dedicated to the pursuit of knowledge through teaching and research. The University strives to develop and maintain a high level of ethics and honesty among all members of its community. Imperative to this goal is the commitment to truth and academic integrity. The essential quality of the Academic Integrity Policy is that each student shall demonstrate honesty and integrity in the completion of all assignments and in the participation of the learning process. Adherence to the University Policy on Academic Integrity promotes the level of integrity required within University and professional communities and assures students that their work is being judged fairly with the work of others.
The Academic Integrity Policy does the following:
1. Defines those behaviors which violate the principles of academic integrity.
2. Describes a range of appropriate sanctions for offenses.
3. Identifies a method for promoting the principle of academic integrity on campus.
Faculty members and other members of the NJIT community that suspect that a student has violated the Academic Integrity Policy should make a report using the link below. Once a report is received, the Office of the Dean of Students will schedule a meeting with the involved student to discuss the allegation in further detail and determine whether the student is responsible for a violation.
